Part 3 - Setting

Together we have begun developing a character named Bea, who will find herself involved in solving some puzzling mysteries.  Bea, a quirky, geocaching artist is about to discover her true identity when she moves to a small town to take over her unknown grandmother's strange bookstore that has sat untouched for 20 years.

Let's figure out a few things about the setting of this story. Click here to add your input.

Part 2 - Main Character

After I have the main idea for the plot I dive into creating my main character. It is important to me to have a solid idea of who she is and what she wants before I start work on more story development. You guys gave me some great ideas for names and at some point, I will be using every single name. For this story, I've selected Beulah! She'll be known as Bea (Bee)...I totally fell in love with this name. If you submitted it please let me know. Also, on the form please let me know if you submitted a vote and name in part 1.

Here we go! Click here to go to the part 2 form.

Part 1 - Plot Development

**This is how I start a story. It's just an idea. Maybe it will turn into something, maybe it won't. I will work from this idea and start building. This is completely unedited as it is the beginning of a rough draft. After reading it, if you would like to participate simply click on "input" and fill in answers for the questions on the form.**

I admit, I was in a hurry and didn't wait for the back window of my SUV to defrost before I put it in reverse and started backing out of the carport area where I keep the vehicle. I knew the window would be clear by the time I wound my way down the driveway and made my way through the gate at the end of the drive. Who would have ever thought I would back right into a person on my own property?

I live alone and would never, in a million years expect someone to be behind the vehicle I just climbed into. There was no one currently staying at the AirBnB at the back of the property because I had an old friend who was coming to stay for a few weeks.

The sheer panic of seeing someone on the ground behind my vehicle was only slightly greater than the thought of having a stranger on my property and so close to me without my knowing. I hesitated only briefly before reaching down to check for a pulse. As I reached to loosen the scarf wound around the stranger's face and neck a gloved hand grabbed my wrist.

Your turn!
