Near the end of each year, I take some time to sit down and reflect on the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. I look closely at what I accomplished and what I didn’t and try to determine why I didn’t accomplish things I intended to.

As I reflected back on 2019 I realized that I’d set some very specific writing goals and did not allow for things that might affect achieving the goals nor did I set writing business goals. These are lessons I’m carrying with me as I move into 2020 and set my goals for the new year. All of the goals include many steps which are generally reflected in my quarterly and monthly goals.

My goals for 2020 are:

  • Publish Pieces of the Past, book 1 in The Journals of Silver Shores series
    • Cover design
    • Make editorial changes
    • Promote the launch
    • Market the book and series
      • Develop reader magnets
  • Publish Valentine of Vengeance, book 5 in The Halfway Point Lodge series
    • Finish writing
    • Edit
    • Send to editing
    • Make editorial changes
    • Cover Design
    • Promote the launch
      • Decide if I should re-launch entire series
    • Market the book
  • Publish Death in the Desert, book 2 in The Comstock Mysteries
    • Finish writing
    • Edit
    • Send to editing
    • Make editorial changes
    • Cover Design
    • Promote the launch
    • Market the book
  • Continue building my writing business
    • Launch Patreon site
    • Introduce Project Believe
    • Attend author events
    • Register Canyon Creek Publishing
    • Introduce pen name
    • Increase social media presence
    • Blog weekly
  • Launch Project Believe
  • Write a minimum of 2 new books (Silver Shores book 2, Comstock book 3, or HPL book 6)
  • Write 2000 words a day (730,000 words for the year)
